Lesson Outline
Olivia and I discussed her final argumentative essay. She has some editing to do before she can turn it in for a grade. She also had a little difficulty with the WORKS CITED page. We discussed how she can correct that. She will revise and edit and submit her final paper this weekend. We then continued with our study of the novel. We read and annotated. Olivia had completed one entry of the summative assessment on the novel. I checked it to make sure that she understood the assignment. She did quite well. She will continue to read and to write to complete her summative assessment to be completed next week.

Lesson Outline
We briefly discussed the argumentative essay due tomorrow. We then continued with our study of the novel. We have been concentrating on annotating. Olivia is doing a wonderful job annotating the text which will make it easier for her to write her summative assessment. She is going to write one tonight for homework so that I can check it tomorrow to make sure that she understands the assignment,.

Olivia was a little upset when she arrived today. She said that she had to change Uber drivers and that she had a bad one. She got to school around 10:20 and then asked to call her Mom. She assured me that she was okay, but I was a little worried about her.

Olivia and I discussed her progress with her argumentative paper. She used the Web site that I showed her, and she said that it is progressing well. We then continued with our study of the novel. I suggested to Olivia that she begin the final assessment. At least complete the first one so that I can see it tomorrow and check that she completely understands the assignment.

Olivia and I revised her working draft of her paper. Olivia did a good job! We discussed the proper formatting of THE WORKS CITED page. I told her to use the web site Purdue OWL as a resource. We also wrote the conclusion together. We talked about how she should add to the content of her paper. She needs to revise and to edit her paper for homework. Final copy due by the end of the week...

ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY FINAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME

Olivia did not have her working draft completed for her argumentative essay which is the summative assessment for the novel THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT TIME.
She promised me that she would have it by Monday. We answered a few vocabulary questions. Then we continued our study of TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE. I again explained the final assessment which is Olivia's own memoir which requires a brief summary and personal reflection for each life lesson in MORRIE (a total of 14). Homework is to complete working draft of an Argumentative essay which we began at the end of April.

Olivia and I prepared her argumentative essay together. Olivia did the research and found good articles. We have the novel to use as an example too. Together we created an outline. We wrote the introduction complete with a thesis statement. I wanted Olivia to write her working draft. I would conference with her on it, and she would complete it. I saw one draft where she cited no information. I told her to revise it. I have yet to see a working draft. We started this paper at the end of April. She keeps having excuses complete with leaving her material at school. I really like Olivia.
I don't know how penalizing I should be. Honor students should have homework.

Writing for the Yearbook
Lesson Outline
Taylor and I reviewed the surveys collected from the students. We compiled some answers into a couple sections for the Yearbook. We decided to do a senior spotlight. Taylor created an additional few questions for our graduating seniors. Taylor then interviewed some of the younger students for the Yearbook.We compiled their answers into a section. We then began looking at the pictures for the yearbook. We made a plan for what writing needs to happen.
