Taylor and I began by reviewing Sadlier vocabulary so that Taylor will be able to complete the assessment for homework tonight. We then continued our study of the novel. We took turns reading and annotating. We talked about some grammar within the book--all right; already vs. all ready. We talked about annotating so that she can write successfully on her final assessment. We discussed the word memoir and talked that she would be writing a mini one as her final assessment.

Lesson Outline
Olivia and I did several tasks today. We first discussed her argumentative essay which is her final assessment for THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHTTIME novel. She needs to complete her working draft complete with quotations for homework. I then explained the fourteen chapter summary and final for TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE. We continued to read and annotate some of the book. We completed lesson four together in the vocabulary book.

Lesson Outline
Taylor and I discussed the vocabulary lesson she had completed. She did a terrific job. We then
discussed the final project for the novel. She will write brief summaries of Morrie's lessons and then her personal reaction to them. There will be 14 of them. We then read some of the novel. I have been modeling annotating a text, and Taylor is really working on perfecting her annotating skills.

Olivia completed the Vocabulary section of the test and most of the Reading Comprehension after I had read the instructions for each respectively. I wrote written comments on the rough draft of her argumentative essay, which she did for homework, while she worked on her Stanford test.

Lesson Outline
Olivia and I began our study of the novel. We read. We annotated for literary devices and unknown words within the text. Olivia and I discussed how the annotation would be used to compose her double journal entries to explain her understanding and interpretation of the novel. Olivia was having a difficult time writing her National Honor Society personal statement. I helped her briefly with that.

Lesson Outline
Taylor and I continued our study of the novel. We spent a significant amount of time discussing annotating. I modeled some annotating for her, and we stopped and annotated together. We also discussed what the double journal entries should contain. Taylor asked a few very good questions regarding the journal entries.
