Lesson Outline
Olivia and I continued our study of the novel. We discussed chapter V. We used the study guide questions that Olivia had completed for homework as a springboard for our discussion. Olivia presents good interpretations of the novel. We then finally discussed chapter one in the Seidler Vocabulary book. Olivia had completed some for homework, and we discussed that exercise. We then continued with completing the vocabulary chapter while reviewing and learning the difficult vocabulary.

We then did a more in-depth study of chapter IV analyzing some important quotes and making a prediction based on the quotes for what will happen next in the novel. We focused on the literary term of foreshadowing. We then previewed chapter 5 and discussed the difficult vocabulary. We began reading the chapter.

We did one practice exercise together, and Olivia will do one for homework.

We also did a more in-depth study of some prominent quotes in chapter four using them to note the author's use of foreshadowing and to make predictions of what is yet to happen in the novel.
