Matthew conferenced with Ms. Nicole and I regarding his next steps in his journey toward college.
Matthew worked on his English essay. He reviewed what he had written and emailed his teacher with some specific questions about the direction of the paper.
Matthew then studied his present paragraph from his Spanish essay so that he can produce quality work during his final exam next week.
Review Conjugations in the Present - Regulars, Stem-changing, -go, common irregulars, present perfect.
Lesson Outline
Cabo was run through a highly accelerated review of conjugations in the present.
He was shown information about a broad range of present conjugations. This review included many questions in order to allow Cabo to produce a significant amount of the information being covered from his own experiences with Spanish.
One of the reasons that it was so accelerated was that Cabo displays solid understanding of many of these concepts with the Spanish that he speaks during our extended discussion times.
Spencer worked hard using pictures to determine equivalent fractions. He also wrote the time shown to the minute. Spencer enjoyed a school wide ice cream party to celebrate everyone completing standardized testing.

Lesson Comments
Spencer is a bright, curious boy when he applies himself.
Today, Cabo and I focused on discussion in Spanish.
Cabo demonstrated a decreasing response time to specific words that seemed unfamiliar to him (but that he should know) such as cuando during our discussion.
In our prior session, he was permitted to answer in the language of his choice. Today, I encouraged him to answer where he could in Spanish. He obliged. He spoke about a third of the time in Spanish.
When he used incorrect grammar, I would repeat his message back to him with the correct grammar. He did an excellent job of including those improvements in later instances that required similar speech patterns.
At the end of our discussion we reviewed new vocabulary that had come up.
Spencer did well using his vocabulary words to complete given sentences. He completed word problems that involved a chart and fractions. Spencer was asked to straighten up his room so he would have a clean work space for tomorrow.
Tristan completed homework such as, language arts - finished reading the book, "Days with Frog and Toad". Excellent reading! Tristan also completed a word search, finding sight words; math - review of multiplication facts, solving fourteen problems.
Today, he read me the introduction to one of his essays. The introduction was packed with information. It could maybe benfit from a little fine tuning with regards to its thesis.
Matthew also read to me his first efforts of the body of this essay.
I gave him notes on the composition thus far.
Matthew also did a spelling and grammar check on his Spanish paragraph in the past.
Today's lesson focused on Cabo's homework. Cabo completed Spanish homework in class; as per his graphic arts teacher, all assignments due on 5/13 have been completed, and there are no reports of math or language arts(sub) homework.
