Chris eagerly initiated conversation regarding his "new look" today. He was wearing a base ball cap backwards, and carrying a skateboard. This afforded an opportunity to expand upon the concepts of "personality, perspective of others, and like-mindedness." Chris was happy to respond to a multitude of complex questions, requiring inferences in reference to the two "You Tube" projects he had uploaded over the Holiday break. Cues and prompts were successful as he formulated cohesive responses on 6/8 opportunities. Topic shifting was subsequently rapid as he was excited to share the latest movie release "news." Chris demonstrated use of topic transition phrases such as "I gotta tell you something else now," and "speaking of which..." Allowance for speaker listener reciprocity was noted as incidences of speaker -speaker overlap was decreased this session.
Strong session.

Chris enthusiastically initiated conversation with a strong focus this morning, as he was eager to share the additional items on his Christmas list. He demonstrated strong awareness of non verbal cues indicating that he needed to revise, and expand his utterances as he provided details about the new items on his list to ensure increased clarity and communication success. Allowance for speaker listener reciprocity was strong this session. In addition, he was observed to acknowledge attentional shifting and rapid topic shifts 5 times within the session, and subsequently utilized transition phrases and cohesive links. It has been observed that Chris has begun to utilize "humor" and "teasing" as a tool to initiate conversation. This has afforded and opportunity to once again review and expand upon the concept of perspective taking, as well as discussing the use of "novel" ideas and language in comparison with use of "tv" talk or "previously heard" verbal scenarios within conversation. Strong session today.

Noah transitioned well into the session today. No tears and came and hugged the clinician! He was excited and ready to work. First he worked on what questions with pictures and a choice of 3. Much improvement noted. He has started answering in 3-4 word phrases. 'A coat when raining' when asked 'what do you wear when it's cold?'When asked 'what opens a door?' Noah replied 'Open the door with key.' Noah transitioned to some pretend play with the doctor kit. He is doing a better job of explaining and communicating what he wants to do. 'I going to check.' 'I cut a finger.'
Next we focused on multi syllabic words. When Noah is focused and taps out the syllables, he is 90% accurate.
Overall his articulation seems to be improving significantly. Very little jargon or nonsense words are heard during sessions.
Noah found a pretend phone and said he was talking to his dad. He said 'Ok ok I call you back' and 'I got my phone'
Noah also did some pretend play with the kitchen. He had difficulties answering questions during this play like 'what are you cooking?' 'Who is dinner for?' etc. Continue to practice pretend play while asking open ended questions for him to answer. Can also work on choice of two..are you cooking spaghetti or chicken? This still allows him new vocabulary and to answer in a phrase.

Richard worked on articulation today in conversation and in drill with picture cards. His TH sounded much clearer today and he self corrected many times. Words with F and TH were improved today as well. He was able to coordinate much better with words like feather, fifth, thirty. We also played a game of headbandz today where Richard worked on a variety of questions while focusing on maintaining his TH.

Richard had a great session today. He transitioned easily from being outside. Richard worked on a conversation with a peer. Continue to work on conversational practice with Richard and peers.
Richard worked on formulating questions (what, when, who, how, and which) in response to hearing a paragraph. Initially he had a difficult time being able to ask questions and instead wanted to answer questions.
Richard also worked on exclusionary listening/listening for directions and listening for clues and being able to follow directions on a large picture scene. He did really well with this activity today.

Noah transitioned to today's session better than Tuesdays. He calmed down much quicker and engaged with the clinician quickly! He was excited to play with the trains. We worked on requesting each item out of the box with clear articulation. While playing with the trains, Noah drove the train to multi syllabic word cards (dinosaur, helicopter, lollipop) where he had to pronounce the word before moving beyond the card. Noah did a great job with this and had fun. Noah then worked on the present progressive form where he produced short sentences/phrases 'He/She is ____' Today we added some places and objects at the end of the sentence to increase sentence length. Overall, today it was noted that he is using more words per sentence consistently. 'I can't find the doctor.' 'I looking doctor' 'I am going on rocket ship with daddy and mommy'-

Richard had a great session working on articulation. He focused on TH in the initial, medial and final position of words. Richard was asked to say the TH word and then come up with a short phrase or sentence with the word. Required moderate cues in all word positions. Words with F and TH were the most difficult for him to coordinate.

Richard transitioned well into today's session. He worked on irregular past tense verbs today. He did a nice job with this activity but it was challenging. Initially, he chose verbs with a final -ed even when they were irregular (cutted, readed, runned) but after saying it out loud he switched to the correct verb form with minimal cues.

Worked on multiple meaning words today. Significant improvement from previous time working on it. He recalled some of the definition of a multiple meaning word. 6/9 with no cues today.

Christopher had a great session today. We worked on shifting topics, what to say to someone that might have a different interest than him, and how to handle when someone says something he might not agree with. This was difficult for him to be able to take someone's perspective other than his own. We discussed how he can say things like, 'what kinds of things do you like?' 'what do you like to do?' He initially said he wasn't sure if he would talk/interact with someone who had different interests than his. We also talked about getting to know more students around school. He shared there are some students that he has known for years but knows nothing about. He said that he might be interested to know what their interests are but that he does not generally ask questions or try to get to know others.

Worked on /s/ sound at the conversation level. After giving him a cue, his accuracy improvement significantly.

Noah had a difficult time transitioning into today's session. He used excellent language skills to protest and request what he wanted. After 10 minutes, Noah was settled and ready to play with the clinician. After playing with the trains for a few minutes and using good language skills to communicate and request, he transitioned nicely to a book where we discussed what, who, and where questions.
Wh questions- where 90% accuracy, who 70% accuracy, what 80% accuracy.
Noah reached for the dr. kit again today. He really enjoys pretend/role playing with the dr. set. Today we focused on asking 'can I check you?' rather than just checking. We worked on saying phrases like 'Open your mouth' 'Sit still' 'Take a breath'
Noah required a little more breaks today but overall had a good session. We finished the session with action picture cards 'He/She is ___' 5/10 action pictures with pronoun+ verb+ing -
