Richard was greeted in the lobby. He was happy throughout session. We started to target past tense in the conversational setting (unstructured) which Richard tends to have more difficulty with (generalizing the skill). For example, when talking about his sleep over with friends over the weekend - he expressed that his friend "never leaved" rather than "never left". When prompted, he is able to correct the response. In addition, we have been working on the difference between much/many (quantitative concept). This is a new skill we have been targeting. He often mixes the two or frequently over uses "much" i.e. "I have so much scratches". We briefly went over his monthly calendar. We targeted voiced '/th/ at the sentence level (~60% accuracy ). Overall, his /th/ in initial part of the word during converational level has significantly improved. Rate of speech reduction prompting was required a few times this session as he tends to omit sounds when he's talking too fast. Overall however, it was a good session. I will see him next week.

Chris initiated conversation rapidly, as he was focused on the school week ahead, formal testing, and the change in the plans for recess due to testing. Supports were provided to assist in navigating his concerns. Topic transition was subsequently supported through direct question across 5 opportunities. Chris provided detail in response to the question stimuli presented. It is noted however, that attentional shifting was strong for the duration of the session, as Chris continued to revisit the concerns that he had shared as the session commenced. Additional problem solving strategies, and supports were provided. Review of the key aspects of perspective taking were emphasized.

Chris was eager to once again "discuss" the plans for Thursday's premier of the Sonic 2 movie.
He was excited to share his "ideas' about the story line and the possible outcomes. Supports for increased use of cohesive links were successful as Chris repeatedly "revised" his ideas. Conversational expansion was characterized by increased cycles of speaker-listener exchange. Aspects of perspective taking, and presupposition continue to be highlighted each session. Chris demonstrated increased awareness of inferences when paired with carrier phrases and strong contextual cues this session. Generalization of Target /s/ phoneme production within short phrases continues to be emphasized as well.

Tristan was happy to start our session with the iPad game. He likes winning and beating the computer when he can. The bonus is that he gets in a lot of word practice and demonstrated 80% accuracy with /s/ words in different positions without any support.

Christopher was having an off day. He did not want to be in school and we discussed what was bothering him. He couldn't identify a particular reason, he just wasn't "feeling right." He asked to call his mom and she agreed to pick him up early. That put his mind at ease and he gained more energy and was able to participate in activities with more pep and enthusiasm. We discussed how it helps to have something to look forward to. We also discussed his job is school and we sometimes have to find ways to "power through and do our work" even when we don't feel "right."

Spencer was eager to play the iPad games and we switched it up with Bingo. It is an excellent way to get in a lot of speech practice with all /r/ words. He loves the competition and the silly pictures that appear with the target speech word. Very focussed and productive session.

Spencer was commenting on the talent show and said maybe next year he'll do it. We discussed it as a learning opportunity to try something new. It is hard to be brave and do something new in front of other people but he was impressed with all the kids who did it and felt confident that he could do it next year. We took our talk outside into nature which is where Spencer does feel confident. It was a great session continuing some of the nature scavenger hunt. Spencer has really made progress with his social-emotional skills. He is getting along better with his peers and is showing more flexibility during our sessions and throughout the school day.

Tristan was feeling nervous before the talent show so we had a few moments to give him a peptalk for stepping out of his comfort zone and doing something new. We discussed how he loves dancing and has fun with the girls he is performing with. Told him to go out there and just have fun. That is just what he did! He rocked it and was super proud of himself.

Tristan was happy to stay inside since the weather was a little strange. We played a new game on the iPad, a memory game with silly sentences using /s/ sounds. He was entertained and motivated to win each round by beating his time from the game before. He was disappointed when the session was over. We discussed that it's fun to try new things. He often is resistant to trying a new activity and he was happy to see that we have lots to choose from during our sessions. Great session! Proud of his emotional growth over the last month.
