Kip was absent in the morning and I helped catch him up on his assignments for reading. Kip read an IReady reading passage and answered comprehension questions. Kip focused on finding evidence from the text to support his answers for characters, setting, and mood. Kip changed the endings of adjectives to correctly state facts in sentences.
Kip and I began with a game of "Sight Word Jenga" to review common irregular words. I reviewed the sound deck with visual, auditory, and blending drills. I taught the FF-LL-SS-ZZ spelling rule (double the consonant in one-syllable words that end in FLSZ) and dictated words to ensure that he understood. We co-read the novel, Ranger, pausing to draw a chart of the characters. We agreed that there are too many characters which is a little confusing! I enjoy Kip's curiosity and enthusiasm.
Kip was absent for our session. Session would have consisted of iReady, a reading, "When Pecos Bill was Young", along with completing a chart connecting words and pictures, a grammar activity on adjectives, and a vocabulary activity to prepare for test on Friday. Some assignments were completed later that afternoon with another teacher so that Kip would not be behind.

Kip was absent for our session. Some assignments were completed with Cortney. I worked at the front desk for Elise.
Kip completed his assignment assigned by his teacher in New Jersey. Kip reviewed different communities in his social studies textbook. He completed the activity questions at the end on the textbook pages. We discussed jobs in the different communities and where he would want to live if he had a choice.
Math – We reviewed Lesson 14. Kelcy learned to apply knowledge of area to determine areas of irregular shapes. First he found the total area of a rectangle then he subtracted the missing area. Next Kelsey completed a Mid-Unit Assessment Form B which will be used as a study guide for a test on Monday, March 29. Then he completed his 15 minutes of I ready.
In today's lesson Kelcy and I worked on solving some area problems.

Kelcy came in at around 10:35. Due to Sofia having something going on I was put with Kelcy while Teresa was with Sofia. Used the beginning of the class time to lesson plan and get a binder of things for Jordan and I for Mercer.
I began with a review of the sound deck with visual, auditory, and blending drills. We played Phonics Dice to review the six syllable types. I dictated regular and irregular spelling words (feed, bird, food, phone, any, front, some, come, one). Kip successfully wrote and edited a sentence (I can feed the birds at the park.) To practice reading fluency and comprehension, we co-read a chapter of the novel, Ranger.
Kip and I began our session with submitting completed work from yesterday. I then read aloud a reading, "Connecting Words and Pictures". Together, we completed a chart filling in details on character, setting, and mood according to the text. Kip then completed a grammar activity, "Comparing with Adjectives", focusing on adding 'er' and 'est'. Kip then completed a practice vocabulary quiz to review for a test on Friday. We ended our session with organizing Kip's binder.
Math – Lesson 16 Session 4: Kelcy applied his knowledge of area to determine areas of rooms in a given floor plan. We completed several examples where we calculated the area of rectangles then added them together to determine the total square area. Then Kelcy completed a Lesson 16 practice quiz and 15 minutes of I-ready green box lessons.
Kelcy completed 'Mystery Science 3 - Can you outrun a dinosaur?'. He learned how scientists use fossil footprints to determine how fast a dinosaur was running or walking. Kelcy did well answering the questions in the video.
