I tried several times to contact Rory. Michelle came on and tried to help to no avail. She said that what I was doing was correct--it made me feel better. Every time I contacted him it said unavailable.
Rory and I started class by discussing a current event related to economics. He researched and found an article pertaining to how this recession is affecting more women compared to the recession in 2008-2009 that predominantly affected men. We discussed effects of unemployment on the wellbeing of our economy and why more women might be affected this time around. Then, we watched an episode of SharkTank to get our creative, entrepreneurial juices flowing.
I tried to call Rory all hour. I contacted Elise. He said that he was waiting for me, yet when I called the message that I received was that Rory was unavailable.
Rory and I watched two videos where the author spoke of his characters and his motivation for writing the novel. Rory is preparing to create a PowerPoint commenting on the book.We watched the videos to review the author's point of view. I created a graphic organizer of the novel for
Rory to use to create his PowerPoint. We began going through the book to complete the graphic organizer which includes quotes from the book using correct MLA citation.

TEAMS: Mapping -Longitude -
Rory and I continued a unit on maps. We started with a review of relative location and reading a grid. We then continued with Longitude and Latitude. I told Rory a quick history on how Longitude was developed after the invention of the chronometer, and helped prevent travelers from being lost at sea. We then examined Latitude parallels and Longitude meridians. Rory was tasked with finding locations on a map using longitude and latitude.
