Rory and I discussed what the journey of el Camino meant to people. The movie is about a priest who leads a band of ten young men from various backgrounds on a pilgrimage and shows how the journey means different things to different people.
Begin the movie Footprints. A priest leads a band of ten young men from various backgrounds on a pilgrimage. They walk from the south of France along the less popular Northern Route of the "Camino" to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain, to a shrine built around the remains of Santiago, the Apostle St. James.

Rory slept for almost the entire hour (on and off). Cal had to speak to him during the session. Rory was extremely tired.
Rory and I continued with the study of his chosen book. We again talked about author's purpose. We talked about the different writing styles in each book that we have read so far. I also explained to Rory that he needs to choose some quotes from this book to react to for his double journal entries.
In his activity, Rory has completed his review of linear equations where he has signed numbers and distributive property including variables on both sides.
Rory and I continued our study of the book. We read and discussed some chapters. Rory is reading through the song lyrics, but we are going to go back through and analyzing the lyrics for the use of figurative language and poetic devices.
Rory and I reviewed a vocabulary list pronouncing each word on the list. He identified with the words he knew. We had a conversation regarding body parts.

Rory was a little better today and did participate. He just is very, very tired.
Rory opened his 3-point perspective file and I worked with him to create the rear set of cubes of his image. Rory was tasked with using the polygon lasso tool to color the individual sections of the cubes.

Environmental Science:
Ecosystem Structure -
Rory was tested on cell progression. Following the exam we discussed the structure of ecosystems, and how every member of the system has a niche. We listed some different types of niches and what happens when two species in an ecosystem compete. The rules of an ecosystem keep it healthy and sustainable and are considered natural laws. We compared them to the laws of physics, and discovered that natural laws (unlike physical laws) can be broken, but checks and balances worked into the ecosystem prevent it from happening. We call this the ‘carrying capacity’.
Rory and I discussed the differences and similarities between Jay-Z and Gucci Mane. Rory outlined some them for me. We then watched some interviews with Jay-Z to try to get a better perspective of the author of the book that we are reading.

Lesson Comments
I am sorry to be writing this, but this is the first time that Rory has really given me a difficult time. He is still very respectful, but he refuses to be productive in any way. He verbally complains about having to be in school, and I reminded him that I even allowed him to choose books of high interest to him. I feel as if since he has returned from California his attitude has worsened.
