sight words, phonics, identify words in a sentence, word/picture match
Lesson Outline
Indigo enjoyed a game of 'sight word hunt'. Sight words were hidden around the room. Indigo found the words and read them. She completed a phonics page that focused primarily on the w sound. Indigo, at times, confuses the y sound and the w sound. She traced a sentence that consisted of sight words and -at family words. Given the words on pieces of paper, she was able to glue them in the correct order to make the sentence. We read, 'The Man, the Pan and the Egg'. We have read the book several times throughout the year. Indigo is able to read most of the book herself now. Indigo did well matching pictures with words by looking at the initial and final letters of the words.
