Bella and I read about the Vos conjugation that is used in Argentina.
She learned about the present and command Vos forms and the irregulars.
Bella was quickly able to start speaking with the Vos. She was asked to conjugate 3 verbs in this form. She then earned extra-credit points for identifying this conjugation during our viewing of the film.
Bella watched a portion of the starts to introduce the mystery of the plot.
Bella and I revisited her study guide. She reread the questions in Spanish and answered them.
This served as a great recap of what had happened in the movie up to this point, and a tool to focus on the Argentinian way life.
We watched more of the movie, at parts that were not critical to the plot of the film, I invited Bella to focus on listening to the words rather than reading the subtitles.
Bella was briefly introduced to the concept of the Vos conjugation which is used in Argentina. We kept our discussion to rather broad points as she was not feeling well, and I could hear her energy level plummet during parts of the lession.
La historia oficial: Vos the conjugation, Disappearing
Lesson Outline
Matthew was taught today about the Vos conjugation that is used in Argentina amongst other countries.
We talked about how this conjugation is used in Argentina. Matthew conjugated multiple verbs in the Vos present form and in the Vos command form. We talked about how this conjugation would likely appear in our textbooks if we used Spanish books from Argentina, but how many Spanish students in the United State don't even know that it exists let alone how to do it.
We spoke about how the conjugation contributes to the sound of the Argentine way of speaking.
We watched more of the film and continued to dissect it.
Matthew and I read the questions on the study guide for the film we are watching in class.
We translated the questions together. He was given an opportunity to write the translations down. Matthew and I then started to watch the movie. As moments on the study guide would come up, I would point them out to Matthew. We would pause the film and discuss it.
