Matthew learned about 3 of the irregulars in the subjunctive including: Ir, Estar, saber. He wrote 5 sentences using the irregular verbs in the subjunctive. We spoke about ways to convey similar messages using the infinitive instead.
Cabo read a brief comic strip about a student who wants to by a train ticket.
We took turns reading. He answered general questions about the comic. He then answered questions from the book.
Cabo did fantastic work today! He transitioned off of the computer early. He was focused. He worked hard. This is the best work that I have seen from Cabo all year!

Cabo’s lesson started late. I arrived late to the school. I apologize.
Matthew learned about the subjunctive mood today. He asked relevant thoughtful questions. He made accurate and logical predictions about how to apply the new information.
We also discussed the ways that culture can influence language and language can influence culture.
We made modern day comparisons to linguistic constructs that are used in the workplace.
Discussing the summer using the preterit and imperfect
Lesson Outline
Matthew read from the textbook. He read some sections which discussed the summer of a hypothetical student who happened to travel to Spain.
We discussed the new vocabulary. We discussed common idioms that were presented. We discussed the varying quality levels of Spanish from different resources in regards to grammatical correctness.
Matthew was given 5 minutes to study for the day's quiz.
He then took the quiz - earning a 100%.
He then guided us through our review.
Matthew then studied for a quiz for tomorrow.
Next he wrote sentences in Spanish using direct object pronouns. He was notified that he will likely have a quiz soon on the subject.
Matthew was then shown a video on the alphabet. He recorded himself saying the letters. He listened to the recording and compared it to the sounds that he was trying to make.
We discussed different accents from different parts of the Spanish-speaking world. Matthew was encouraged to attempt to mimic the sounds of native Spanish speakers when speaking Spanish.
Matthew guided us through our review. This time he spoke almost exclusively in Spanish.
He then worked on some quizzes from StudySpanish.com. He was awarded this time in recognition of the work that he is doing on his own time. He recounted to me an experience that he had of listening to a conversation in Spanish.
Matthew then practiced using direct and indirect object pronouns in the preterit. Each time he seems to improve.
He finished his cards for his 55 verb test.
Matthew then studied his vocab in preparation for his quiz tomorrow.
