Abby read chapter 14 part 1 during our first hour together and part 2 during our second hour together. Abby read in French then translated, identified grammar, and new vocabulary. She added vocabulary to her word bank and grammar to her data folder.

Abby did a culture study on France - concentrating on the Riveria area. Using YouTube, Abby researched summer music festivals in France. In her research, she identified each of the cities on Google map and found a large number of festivals in the Loire Valley area. She then researched the French Riviera to see the cities which encompass this area. She was surprised to learn of the large number of buildings that were over 1,000 years of age. She will continue this culture study on another day.

Abby read part 1 of chapter 14 of Phantom of the Opera. She read in French, then translated and identified grammar.

Abby created 28 original sentences in her journal. She used present, imperfect, passe compose, and future tenses as she discussed her weekend and her plans for upcoming summer vacation. She needed only minimal assistance with grammar and vocabulary. When complete, she read all her entries. Abby did very well.

Abby completed reading the answers to the questions at the end of Chapter 13 of Phantom. Abby then went on youtube - she watched and heard native French speakers in conversation. She tried to understand their conversation. We went over vocabulary and grammar as it presented in the conversations. Abby did very well.

Abby read chapter 13 of Phantom, in French. She translated, identified grammar and added new vocabulary to her word bank. During the 2nd hour today, she answered the 30 questions at the end of the chapter.

15 minute conversation in French. Abby then created 20 original sentences in French in her journal. She needed assistance with only a few grammar constructions. She added a few new vocabulary words to her word bank. When complete, she read in French.

Abby finished reading, in French and translating chapter 12 of Phantom. She then answered the first 10 questions at the end of the chapter. For homework she will complete the remaining 20 questions.
