During the first hour, Abby read Chapter 8, in French, of Phantom. She translated and identified grammar and vocabulary. During the second hour, we went on a field trip to Barnes and Noble. I showed Abby the differences between the French dictionaries and grammar books. She chose one dictionary and one grammar book to own and have at home. We then went to a Gelato store owned by a Frenchman from Corse. Abby spoke to him in French then listened as he and I had a conversation in French. On the way back to school, I asked her to translate the conversation she heard. She understood a bit over 90% of the conversation. She did very well.
