During the first hour, we had a grammar review using the Amsco Grammar book for French. We reviewed: direct and indirect objects - their placement in a sentence and the translation; possessive and demonstrative pronouns - How to use them and their translation. During the second hour, Abby completed reading in French chapter 7 of Phantom. She translated; and summarized, in French, the developments of the plot. She then answered all the questions at the end of the chapter.

Abby read the first half of chapter 7 of Phantom, in French then translated it. She identified vocabulary and grammar. She also gave a summary of the plot in French and listed the characters and their relationships to each other.

Abby wrote original entries into her journal. She wrote 20 sentences. We reviewed the grammar of the idiomatic phrases she used as well as other vocabulary and grammatical structures. The remainder of the time was spent speaking conversational French.

For the first hour, Abby watched you tube in French to hear native speakers. She answered questions in French that I asked in French. She did well. For the second hour, she continued reading part 1 of Chapter 7 of Phantom. She answered questions orally in French which I asked in French.

Abby read, in French the first part of chapter 7 of Phantom of the Opera. She translated and answered questions orally which I had asked. Abby added new vocabulary to her existing word bank. She did very well.

Abby created entries to her journal. She wrote 28 original sentences. She identified the passe compose and wrote grammar notes. She read her journal entries to Judie and answered questions in French for me. She did well.

Abby completed reading, in French, Chapter 6 of Phantom of the Opera. She used her word bank, and grammar data folder to assist in translating the portions she had read. She then answered the 30 questions at the end of the chapter. She did very well. For the remaining time she and I spoke, in French, about the places she has visited in France. Abby’s pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and fluency has improved greatly. Abby is able to comprehend 90% of the spoken and written French she has in her French lessons.

Abby wrote entries into her journal. As she wrote, I asked questions in French and she was able to answer in French. Abby entered the Imperfect tense for each of her 14 verbs into her data folder. She did very well with assistance only for the first 2 verbs. She completed the entries on her own.

Abby read, in French, chapter 5 of Phantom of the Opera. She translated, identified the imperfect tense and answered, in French, questions I asked in French. She identified the characters and reviewed the plot. Abby did well.
