We reviewed the 1-100 number chart and worked on recognizing all numbers when randomly selected. We learned how looking at the numbers/digits individually can help to figure out the two digit number, such as 55. We also practiced counting and adding with a game.
Penny painted motifs from her mask on to paper. She mixed primary colors to create her secondary colors and enjoyed working with this media.

Penny enjoyed painting with acrylic media. We worked with primary colors and learned how secondary colors are created. She enjoyed using the motifs on her mask and paint them on to paper.
We practiced writing the numbers from 1-100, beginning where we left off last time. Also, we practiced some basic Yoga poses (cat/cow), and practiced a brief breath-based relaxation technique.
Letter identification /Letter Sound for the letter “Uu” – Penny made two pictures for the two sounds of “U” as in unicorn and umbrella. She then typed the words on a computer, we printed it, and glued it to the correct picture.
In today's session Penny and I went over the stages of a butterflie's life cycle. Penny was familiar with the caterpillar and the butterfly stage, but not the pupa stage. We then created a scene of a butterfly feeding on the nectar of a flower.
Sight-word recognition – Fishing game - Each colorful fish is printed with a common sight-word... Penny used the magnetic fishing pole to “catch” the fish, and say the word, blending 2 – 3 sounds to say the word.
Sight Words – Penny read the words on her word ring. After which she read a book with a few of her sight words titled, ”Can You See It?”
Memory Development - We played a Disney memory game, which plays a major role in letter recognition, letter sound memory, sight word knowledge, and later, reading comprehension.
Upper and Lower Case Letter Recognition – Penny played a game on the I-pad which helps with identification of upper and lower case relationship.
