Take a break from Dane's character in Procreate to sketch our next character. We worked on a full render of the main villain character. Today, we worked on gesture drawings. We started with a quick sketch of the figure and then started to add details following the reference exercise. Sketch the other two characters and scan them to upload to Procreate.
We continued working on the E, D, and A chord progression. We also worked on a short E minor pentatonic scale run. We continued learning the D, C+9, and G chord progression.
Today's lesson focused on Hurricanes. Dane reviewed material that detailed how hurricanes are formed and how they impact our world. He learned that Hurricanes are powerhouse weather events that suck heat from tropical waters to fuel their fury. These violent storms form over the ocean, often beginning as a tropical wave—a low-pressure area that moves through the moisture-rich tropics, possibly enhancing shower and thunderstorm activity.

Today's lesson was an introduction to angle measure and how to use a protractor. Dane and I discussed how angles are formed before finding angles around his room. We also discussed professions that use angles as well as how angles can affect us daily. Next, we reviewed the procedure for using a protractor and Dane found the measurement of given angles and drew angles from given degrees. Finally, Dane found and measured an angle in his room using two 1" strips of paper that were taped together to model an angle made by his desk.
