Today Marina was on fire in keyboarding class. She completed the last lesson in the beginners typing course. Today she was typing an average gross speed of 17 words per minute, with an average of 98% accuracy! Fantastic job today Marina! Next class she will begin the intermediate course. This course will introduce capital letters.
Today Marina continued working on her typing program. In today's lesson Marina was typing an average of 13 words per minute. Marina played typing games during the last part of class. She is doing much better in the games since she now knows the keys location.
Bobby completed stage 12 of the BBC typing. This is the final stage of this typing program. It introduced Bobby to the shift keys. After he completed this stage, he took a typing test that recorded his typing speed and accuracy.
Ethan used a new website today (I took the liberty of creating the new account for him ahead of time). I really like this website because it allows me to track him and also gives him motivation because each time he completes a level, he gets a trophy! He has a trophy room that I will show him when he earns his first trophy. He is still working on the home row. I think that Ethan would benefit from more frequent practice on this website (or even the other on: funtotype.com). His username is eholliday and his password is spoon43.
Today Marina typed up the contractions she is learning in English class. She typed the 2 words in red and blue and then inserted an arrow to point to the contraction which was purple (the combination of blue and red). Marina learned how to insert a symbol and copy and paste a symbol. Great work today Marina.
Today Will began by finding 2 pictures of the U.S. Capitol Building. He added the day picture and night picture to his PowerPoint. Then I showed Will how to make a picture a background on a slide. Will found a picture of the Lincoln Memorial building and set it as his background for the slide. Then he changed the translucency until it was the way he wanted. Finally Will found a picture of the Lincoln statue and added it the front of the side.
Today Will completed a slide on Supreme Court Building. Will and I read his research. Then he took the research that he liked and added it to his PowerPoint. Great work today Will!
Today Marina spent the first half of class working on the bottom row of the keyboard lessons on her typing program. Then Marina completed her butterfly vocabulary and added it to her English project.
Today Marina was so focused during keyboarding class. Marina completed 15 lessons and was able to earn 2 trophies. Marina didn't even want to play any typing games. She was so excited to earn her trophies. She only has 2 more sections left in her beginner lessons. Today she was typing an average of 14 words per minute with 96% accuracy. I am so proud of you Marina!

Today Will and I had so much fun in Keyboarding class. Today Will found pictures of the White House to add to his PowerPoint. He was making so many jokes about painting the White House yellow and what would happen if someone egged or teepeed the White House. Today was a very funny class!
