We reflected on the strengths and shortcomings of the software that we are using. We also reflected on how the current embodiment of his design mathced up with his original design intent.
He was then required to perform additonal manipulative functions in order to draw nearer to the final goal.
He was able to split the object that he previously hollowed and to add a tensioning ring of another color.
We discussed other ways that he could have accomplished the same result of the tensioning ring but with alternate parts.
Cabo was required to plan out the object that he would like to design with 3D software.
We discussed design merits of the different options.
He then selected an object. We then discussed the design intent for that object.
We prioritized specific areas of the design intent.
While Cabo did a great job in his morning class. He was distracted by his computer for about 5 minutes during this class period. He was able to get back on track and produce quality work.

Lesson Comments
I am glad Cabo corrected his behavior. I believe that he is maturing.
Cabo was introduced to a 3D modeling software program called 3DC.io.
He was given a brief time to explore the program and its capabilities.
He was then asked to create his interpretation of a snowman with at least 6 parts, 3 different shapes, and two colors. During his creation of the snowman he continued to discover additional functionalities of the software (such as the resize function). Cabo exhibited his investment in the activity by going back and retouching parts of his creation once new functionalites were discovered.
Cabo was required to save his file.
He did an excellent job of staying off his computer today.
Lastly, Cabo was asked to brainstorm objects that he may want to print off in the future.
The ideas discussed included a Castle/House/Tree for his lizard enclosures, a small plastic lizard, a base for his computer, a chess piece.
Assignment
Choose which part he would be most interested in engineering for a 3D print
Cabo answered a series of questions on the basics of programming languages.
He then worked on completing 2 more tutorials.
He was able to finish the first but got stuck in the middle of the second tutorial due to software issues on the part of the software that we were using.
Cabo and I discussed creative ways to work around issues like these.
We then chose one of the strategies that we discussed and implemented it.
Cabo was enthusiastic about sharing his summer's adventures with me.
After discussing his summer trips, I introduced him to the general landscape of Computer Science as a subject and discussed some of the format of this year's course.
