Richard and I went over the sketchbook assignment that will span the entire year. Each day, he will come in and draw a sketch based on a prompt. Today, his prompt was water. We then found an image that he wanted to make a rubber stamp out of and printed it out. He used his pencil grip to trace the image with tracing paper.
Andrew was online so we worked on his daily sketchbook prompts for the duration of class. We went over his Self-Portrait rubric to guide him while he looks for reference images for his project.
Today, I had Andrew online. We worked on catching up with his daily sketchbook prompts. He worked on some portraiture practice which goes along with our second assignment, Self- Portrait in Arbitrary Colors.
Today, Andrew and I started class reviewing where we are in his AP curriculum and his make up work. He got started on his daily sketch make up work for the first 45 minutes. For our second class, we did an introduction to his Self- Portrait project which he decided to do when he gets back to school. He then finished the sketch that he started in his first class.

Andrew seemed much happier today in terms of his mood. We knocked out some of his make up work which is great.
Today, we started class by working on a 15 minute sketch. Kaitlin had an idea for what she wanted to draw, so she didn't use a prompt. We then used the last thirty minutes of class to start brainstorming ideas for her rubber print project. We went over examples of successful prints, looked at professional rubber stamps and reviewed some famous block prints from Japan.
Andrew was a little late today so we did the daily fifteen minute sketchbook prompt and reviewed what we will be working on tomorrow with the arbitrary colors self-portrait.
