Atticus brought up some biological inappropriate topics up in class. I did redirect him and move past the subject matter. I also said that the information that he was asking about should be talked to with his parents.
Atticus and I reviewed this weekend's homework. The mid-topic quiz covered understanding equations and solutions, applying properties of equality, and writing and solving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations. Atticus is still struggling with writing equations for situations and is making progress on solving equations with fractions and decimals. We will review it again tomorrow before moving forward. While Atticus has done well with his written chapter summaries, he remains unclear on run-ons and fragments. As such, we had a grammar lesson today on sentence mechanics. I demonstrated parts of speech-subject, verb, object, and prepositional phrase -and explained what constitutes a run-on sentence and what constitutes a sentence fragment. I then distributed run-on and fragment exercises .After Atticus completed the exercises, we reviewed his answers and addressed incorrect responses. Last, I provided some spelling instruction.
