Liam and I began our session with a calendar activity – identifying the month, day of the week, date, time, weather, and his feelings. Liam then completed a warm-up activity focusing on math skills. Lastly, Liam completed Lesson 4.4 Use Multiplication to Divide with 8 & 9 – completing guided practice, independent practice, and problem-solving problems.

Liam imaged, read, spelled, and manipulated sounds in two-syllable words with the suffixes -le, -ly, and -ful. He read and divided into syllables a list of twenty words with 100% accuracy and spelled ten pattern words with 90% accuracy.

Liam read and discussed a tall tale about Paul Bunyan. He wrote the definition of a tall tale into his notebook. He answered in writing comprehension questions pertaining to the story. He learned to recognize the number of paragraphs in an article. he completed several activities on 3 letter blends, and the ending blends-ft, lt, nk, mp, and nt.

Today we will play some basketball. Practise dribbling and shooting 50 hoops.

Liam read a reading comprehension article about Texas. He answered detailed questions about the state of Texas. He completed activities using words with long e and i.

Liam read and discussed an article about a Spadefoot toad. He answered in writing comprehension questions pertaining to the article. He watched a video on how to draw a toad and followed the directions exactly as instructed. He drew a very precise depiction of a toad.

Lastly, Liam completed fifteen minutes on Math Prodigy focusing on rounding using a number line.

Warm up with some strength training and balance exercises. Practise a Front kick. Do some "Kick and run" drills. Learn a knife-hand block and how to apply it to Self-Defense.

Liam reviewed his vocabulary words and their definitions. He then read the story,"Earth." After he finished reading, we discussed the solar system, the sun, and the planets. He drew a very precise drawing of the sun and the planets that revolved around it. He labeled all the planets and the sun. He took notes as he read the story, and wrote the important facts into his interactive notebook. He completed several activities using 2 and 3 letter blends. He created a calendar for February.

Liam imaged, read, spelled, and manipulated sounds in multi-syllable words containing the affixes -le and -ly. He practiced identifying and creating open and closed syllables. Finally, he read all the clue sentences in his practice book to identify Poe as a kitten.
