We played through several of the songs we have been working on, and we began learning the chord progression to Free Bird. We even worked on some of the electric guitar parts to the song. We taled about using a capo to change the key of songs while still using first position chord shapes. We also discussed using the CAGED system to determine capo position based upon the chord family shapes you want to use.
We continued practicing the songs Margaritaville, A Country Boy Can Survive, and Jersey Giant. We began looking at the intro to Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks.
Nonsynchronus learning - I left a video for Carson outlining the basics of creating major and minor barre chords rooting the bass note on both the low E and A strings. I also reviewed the G major scale in two octaves.
