To begin, Libby used addition flashcards to review the basic addition facts 0 through 5. Today's lesson focused on the different ways to break apart numbers. Together, we colored connecting cube trains to show subtraction and the corresponding patterns when one more is taken away each time. Libby finished with the lesson check and spiral review problems.

She read and discussed her new story, "At a Pond." She identified the main idea, setting, and story details for the story. She can recite the rule for a sentence and a noun.
We explored bats today. We created a bat book with a lot of facts about bats. Then, we read the book and answered comprehension questions. We will continue to work on the bat packet throughout the week.
