Libby requested that we make miso soup again, but this time add a side of edamame beans as that's one of her favorite meals. She did a great job with the soup, remember most of the steps from last time on her own. She was very excited to steam her own edamame and had a great time preparing plates to share with teachers and carefully seasoning each bean with salt.
This morning, Libby and I began with a review of the Make a 10 strategy. Libby was given groups of items less than 10 and she determined how many more she would need to have 10 in all. We continued to practice this skill with imaginative play using her stuffies at a pretend tea party. Next, we worked on the doubles strategy. The doubles fact to 10 were written on the whiteboard and we listened to a doubles fact song.
