Jason and I changed the date on the calendar. We reviewed the rules and laws poster. He completed a draw laws that your family follows activity. I read the passages "Community Laws," "Our Country's Laws," and "Following Rules and Laws" on pages 10-15 in the textbook. I asked follow-up questions. He wrote key details of the passages on page 11 in the workbook. He wrote one important rule on page 12 in the workbook.
We began to look at the science kit Jason received from his mom but most of the activities required work in the kitchen, so we instead read about the different science experiments in the kit, and identified the tools in it. Jason was able to explain their function. His mom came to pick him up from school early so he was dismissed from class early this Friday afternoon.

I was asked to sub for Barbara this afternoon, Friday, 9-27-24, from 2:10 - 3:42 - for science and science enrichment.
We read about Johnny Appleseed, as it was his birthday yesterday, and then completed a packet of activities that focused on apples. Jason was tasked with applying integrated and applying prior and newly acquired knowledge to academic activities which integrated core subjects, such as math. He effectively completed a cut-and-paste activity illustrating the growth cycle of apples - from seed to fruit maturity. He also excitedly showed me his plants, which he is growing from seeds, and watered them. We ended the session completing a book of apple jokes, puns, and riddles, and Jason was happy to ask his peers and teachers if they knew the answers.

I subbed for Barbara this afternoon, Friday, 9-27-24, for both science and science enrichment classes - from 2:10 - 3:42.
Jason completed Thursday and Friday's daily review questions on place value, counting coins, comparing, number patterns, and 2-digit addition and subtraction. Then, we listened and danced to the skip count by 2's song before Jason completed skip count by 2 patterns with 3-digit numbers. Finally, we continued to work on balancing equations within 20. Jason used given numbers to create addition problems on either side of equal signs to make balanced scales.
Jason and I continued working on his animation. I worked with Jason to have his character fire a flame at the enemy in the scene. Jason took some initiative, found a flame brush, and added to all of the frames that had a fire design.
