Bobby and I veered off topic to continue our discussions on how to start a business. The topic reemerged when I confronted Bobby on his lack of experience with Keynote and Excel which can be used to format pro forma statements etc. We contacted an attorney friend of mine to review some of the details surrounding incorporation etc.
This afternoon Bobby and I continued our study of the virus which included a comparison between the structural features of the virus as compared to the bacteria. We also discussed the unique manner in which virus reproduce. Homework is to complete the questions in the next section.
Bobby will create the home page for the Batt School Student Website Center. For the past several sessions some of the students have been creating websites that represent themselves and a potential business that he or she would like to create. Bobby will create the new home page that will act a central hub for all the student's websites. Bobby will add a slider which links to respective webpages of each student's site and begin creating a new home page template that will be used for all student's websites.
This morning we worked on the chapter review for chapter five. Bobby left his daily planner at school and was not able to complete the math homework. I have addressed this issue with Bobby and explained to him that the assignment was visible on the session notes which his Dad is able to access. An email would have been easy to do as well. Homework is to complete #'s 25-35 on page 268. The class was productive however and Bobby performed pretty well solving expressions containing mixed fractions using division and multiplication.
Bobby warmed up and did the stability ball, DB press, hyperextension rows, push up gauntlet, plank cable rows, incline cable flyers, Supermans, PB ball hands to feet, hanging knee raises, and cool down.
Bobby punctuated sentences with quotation marks and commas. He completed an assessment in the grammar book using commas in sentences with introductory and interrupting phrases, in series, and compound sentences. He read and completed the comprehension questions on the article "Cleveland Baseball Team, Controversial Logo," using Newsela. He read a chapter in "Rot and Ruin." Bobby will read a chapter in "Rot and Ruin" and review spelling words for homework.
This afternoon Bobby and I continued our assembly of the Ranger Robot tank as well as the installation of the control module for both the tank and robotic arm. We successfully identified the four controllers for the motors, as well as the bluetooth chip and power hookups. After installing the battery pack we installed the Arduino Pi control board and will wire the board during our next class. Homework is to read pages 247-253 and complete #'s 1-7 and 9-11.
This morning Bobby and I continued our review of chapter five by going over his responses on page 268 assigned from the previous night. Bobby did not complete his homework which usually means that class time is used to complete his homework before moving forward. This situation is made worse by his limited retention of key concepts and topics. Homework is to complete #'s 19-26 and 27-35 on page 268.
This afternoon Bobby and I continued our study of Ancient China while taking a closer look at the spread of religion and commerce throughout the various regions. We concluded that religion helped to unify the people which encouraged communication, interaction and subsequently commerce. We reviewed our responses on page 206-211 before moving forward into the next section. Homework is to read pages 212-213 and research the evolution of the Silk Trade. Bobby will be asked to prepare a Keynote presentation on this topic.
