He started out by writing sentences using concepts that we learned in this chapter. Each sentence could earn a specific number of points based on how well it fit certain criteria. He seemed to enjoy maximizing his sentences to earn the most points. He did a great job with the activity.
He then read a chapter of the Isabella book. He succinctly summarized the chapter.
We studied the vocabulary for which he is responsible together.
He did not have a full mastery of the words. So, he made notecards for any of the key words and for any words in which he was significantly deficient.

Cabo had his best transition yet today.
We had a pop quiz. He got a 100%.
We read a chapter from the Isabella book. He wrote the answer to five questions about the book. We discussed fun, ridiculous Spanish phrases having to do with chili powder. We discussed the chapter of the book.
Then, Cabo worked independently on Vocabulary from the chapter.
We completed a short written practice test on board.
We reviewed demonstratives.
I presented comparatives and superlatives.
We traveled around the school reviewing saber v. conocer. In our travels, we met another student. We went with said student outside and taught him how to play Eye Spy in Spanish.

This was a great opportunity for Cabo to be social while using Spanish.
Cabo did a great job of fully transitioning off of his device today. He completely shut down his computer when we were not using it.
We reviewed our notes from yesterday including: costar, self-improvement, Puedo Ir al Bano?, we reviewed verbs from this chapter, and did practice test problems on the board together.
Cabo read 1 chapter from the Isabella book. We discussed, and then he answered 3 written questions.

Sofia read a short chapter in Las Aventuras de Isabella.
She did an excellent job. She read in her mind first and then aloud.

Sofia had work from another class that she wanted to work on. We finished about 5 minutes early, so I let her work on that assignment in the last 5 minutes of class.
Cabo read a short chapter from the book, “The adventures of Isabella.” He was given the opportunity to read the chapter in his head first and then he read it aloud. He did a fantastic job.
He was able to discern what certain words meant like sacar fotografias and pirata from the context of the story.
We then discussed in Spanish the content of the chapter. I taught Cabo the difference between Este, Ese, and Aquel. We reviewed voacabulary from the chapter. Cabo answered written questions regarding the chapter in complete Spanish sentences.

Cabo’s ability to comprehend and use new information on the fly is refreshing and engaging.
Cabo and I reviewed information regarding Saber and Conocer. We also added new information including how Saber is also used to discuss knowledge of how to do something.
We discussed the foods that Cabo enjoys eating. We used the vocabulary to discuss with Ms. Elise upfront Cabo's lunch and requested that Pizza be an option for Cabo's lunch in the future.
In the course of speaking Spanish, we reviewed the word picante which was introduced just yesterday. Cabo was able to recognize, utilize and respond appropriately.
We introduced the riddle, "Que hace un pez?"
We performed an oral practice quiz. Cabo would have scored an 80% had the quiz been written.

I was glad to see how quickly Cabo had acquired the word picante. It was not presented as formal vocabulary but it was still internalized effectively.
I showed Cabo the verb trees for Saber and Conocer. We spoke about how they are irregular in the Yo forms. We discussed what irregular and regular means.
We made a Survival Phrase sheet. We added the phrase, "Yo no se."
We then toured the school and I asked Cabo if he knew specific students using conocer. I asked if he knew facts using saber.
We reviewed llevar and clothing with sentences and verb trees.
Cabo wrote 3 sentences. He reviewed his vocabulary.
