Great session. Ayden easily understood the ideas of colonization and people's motives for moving to the Americas.
He struggled a little with the writing of the names of the colonies. He was interested and involved throughout, however.
Ayden arrived 15 minutes late today. He started math class by practicing his 5x tables and then taking a timed drill. His time is improving. Then he completed a daily review, which encompasses the content taught thus far. He completed the problem of the day, and reviewed key words that often inform him which operation to use to solve the problem. Then Ayden learned in lesson 2-4 how to add whole numbers through regrouping. We discussed the importance of lining up all digits according to place value. Ayden solved some of these problems independently. In Fast ForWord he worked in the following programs: Hog Hat zone, Scrap Cat, and Chicken Dog. Have a great weekend, Ayden and family!
made lavender spray for class; Started "I Love Yoga" book; used foam board pics of poses; new pose: danda; practiced poses; relaxation with music and belly breathers.
Lesson Outline
We replenished our lavender spray at the beginning of class. We started reading our "I Love Yoga" book and discussed the word "yoga." We then placed the foam board pics of poses against the wall and practiced the poses. New: sunshine, danda. We did "row, row" partner yoga and also practiced warriors. Class ended with a relaxation to soft music where we used "belly breathers" (rubber animals) to emphasize our breath. Handout: ball pose
Assignment
Bring in marionette puppet to demonstrate posture.
Begin with warm up exercises - home keys, then g-e amd i-e. Session teaches r-u using right pointer finger for r, and left pointer finger for u. Next, practice just all the letters learned so far with right hand - then left hand and finally type words with both hands. Ayden is doing a good job - he learns the new letters quickly and his speed is improving. I'm very proud of him.

Ayden works hard and he is excited about his project presentation.
Review lesson one - proper posture - hands placed on home keys - follow along as letters are called. Then begin to type short words using home keys (words appear on screen). Next, begin session two - adding new letter "e" using left middle finger and the letter "i" using the right middle finger. Then begin typing words using home keys and new keys e and i. Ayden is doing very well. He enjoys this format.
