Today Gracyn and I watched more of the competition from the recent Pacific Rim Championships. We also watched video footage from when Gabby Douglas was younger, she really enjoyed that! Because she was eating and had an injured toe we didn't move around too much today!
Today Gracyn learned the difference between an analog clock and a digital clock. She was able to draw the hands on a analog clock and then write the same time on a digital clock.
Today we worked on challenging poses from the adult yoga book. They included variations on bridge and shoulder stand poses. We warmed up with rock the baby, moon toes, bicycle, up dog/down dog, and telephone. Gracyn also practiced crab pose (reverse table) with balancing a kleenex box on her belly. She then balanced the box on her head. We ended class with the tree pose, counting how long we could stay in pose, and mountain/volcano.

Lesson Comments
We lost some time today due to Gracyn's computer dying in the middle of class, but was able to resume class when the computer was charged.
Today Gracyn reviewed her spelling words. She wrote them one time each. Then we completed her morning work together. We read several fun stories today including "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs". It was a silly version of the story told from the Wolf's perspective. Next we learned about verbs. Gracyn had to read various words on cute snail pictures and color the words that were verbs. She did great and enjoyed this. She took her time coloring the snails beautifully. Next we continued her lesson on the life cycle of a butterfly. She had to color pictures and then cut and place them in order of the cycle. We used words "first, next, then, last, and finally" to describe the pictures. We read a Raz Kids level D story on butterflies. We ended the last few minutes watching her favorite Bible video, Noah's Ark.
Telling Time, Understanding the hour and minute hands
Lesson Outline
Today Gracyn worked on telling time. We went over how long it takes to do certain activities. She learned that the hour hand is shorter then the minute hand. Gracyn was able to write the time that she saw on a clock. She was also able to draw the hour and minute hand on a clock.
Today Gracyn wrote her new spelling words one time each. We completed her morning work and in writing she wrote two complete sentences about her fun play date with her friend Lexi. In Language Arts we learned about synonyms. Gracyn had to match synonyms together. In reading I read her a paragraph about spring. She then had to answer comprehension questions about the story. Her listening skills were right on and she got the questions all correct. In Bible Gracyn watched the movie about The Good Samaritan. In reading she read me two Raz Kid Level D stories and answered the comprehension questions at the end.
We reviewed, then I administered, a spelling quiz. We worked on word sounds and writing. We completed an Earth Day science packet, and watched 2 science videos on brain pop jr. We read 2 books on raz kids.com and then did a book report on "The Pain and The Great One".

Lesson Comments
Sub for April, she left a wonderful lesson and we followed and completed all of it.
Gracyn did not have scissors or tape today, so I modified our plans. She colored her classroom poster. Then, we read two bilingual books: "Froggy se Viste" and "Como Iremos a la Playa". We finished up by practicing the pronunciation of her classroom objects words.
I showed Gracyn some pictures of acrobatic yoga in the "Twisted Yoga" book and we discussed different types of yoga, i.e. acrobatic, hanging, hot and slow. We then did breathing exercises focusing on the calming balloon breathing. We played "silly story" yoga with the yoga cards, making up silly stories with yoga poses. Gracyn was tired today, so our active yoga was during the last part of class, doing standing poses, triangle, ragdolll, star/victory and arm circles.
