Kelcy will use some of the skills of digital coloring that he used in previous classes and apply them to today's assignment. Kelcy will also learn about a fast paint function along with lasso tool. Once complete the image will be saved and printed for the student to take home.
Today, Kelcy and I played Ten Go Fish using a deck of cards with the face cards removed and 4 zero cards added. We each were dealt seven cards with a draw pile in the middle. We took turns asking for cards that would make a ten if added to one of the cards in our hand. If the opposite player had the card a ten was made and laid down otherwise, it was a go fish. Kelcy used great mental math skills determining which cards were needed to make a ten. We have had a lot of fun working together and Kelcy's number sense and fluency have improved greatly. I will miss his big smile and fun attitude.
We spent today talking and laughing, doing a little writing and a LOT of cleaning. I made sure that everything that he created/was hanging in his room was sent home. We did not have enough time to finish our last chapter book (Junie B. Jones is a Beauty Shop Guy) - so that was my gift to him! I hope you enjoy reading it together!
Thanks so much for these incredible months and sharing your precious kiddo with me. It has been all my pleasure to say the very least!
For our last class today I let Kelcy picked what we did for class. Of course, he picked his favorite game that we made up together, indoor baseball. After that we played crab walk soccer and then regular soccer. We had a great time today. I have truly enjoyed my time with Kelcy. His joy and laughter are infectious! He will be missed!
Kelcy and I played a letter/sound game and a sight word game. I am always impressed by what a good sport he is when he plays a game. Also, he has very nice manners. We read the first three chapters of a new Junie B. Jones book. Kelcy is an active listener who asks and answers questions as we read. He also makes reasonable predictions about what may happen next. He completed another level in Reading Eggs, practicing sight words and word families.
He has been a delightful addition to our Batt family and will be greatly missed.
Kelcy and I worked on a graphing activity this morning in math. Using a cube with funny monsters on each side, Kelcy rolled the cube and recorded each roll with a tally mark. He stopped rolling when the first monster had 2 groups of 5 tallies. Then, Kelcy counted all of the tallies and wrote the total for each monster. Taking the data from the collection sheet, he used different color crayons to make a graph showing how many times each monster was rolled. We also covered the number words 20-29 along with matching groups of objects to the correct number. Finally on Mathseeds, Kelcy determined how a shapes attributes can affect its ability to be stacked or rolled.

Lesson Outline
Kelcy and I reviewed all of his sight words, great job. We also played a game with the words. He wrote a description of his favorite snack food, chips, in his journal. He described their appearance, taste and sound, then wrote a sentence about them. We reviewed the word families in his journal and practiced the -ad family. We played games with the sound /j/ on Reading Eggs, he completed 3 levels with 100% accuracy. We finished his Junie B. Jones story and looked for a new one to read next. Kelcy read a book about penguins on Raz-Kids for his guided reading and answered 5 comprehension questions correctly.
Kelcy and I played math games today - Counting by 10s Dinner, The Doghouse, and an addition memory game. Afterwards, we researched many different camouflage patterns. He had a lot of fun doing this!
