Matthew and I joined another Spanish 3 student and his teacher to have a discussion in Spanish and English.
We discussed dream places and activities in Spanish-speaking countries. His list included fishing in Costa Rica, Panama, and Mexico. He also spoke about food that he would love to try in Mexico.
We mentioned differences in regional vocabulary for key words such as maiz, choclo, and elote.
We discussed the vocabulary that he must learn in order to be successful on some of his trips.
Speaking Spanish and Instructional Gap Identification
Lesson Outline
Bella and I played Guess Who together.
Each time we played, we added more and more Spanish to the game.
We learned game specific vocabulary. I gave her feedback and helped her to clean up some slight deficiencies in her speech patterns.
She did a great job.
We then worked on her Spanish Quizzes Project. We spoke about a topic that appears to be a gap in the information that she would have been taught in a typical Spanish program in Florida.

Review Subjunctive - Access Resources in Spanish - Read in Spanish
Lesson Outline
Matthew and I started the class with a brief conversation in Spanish. He did an excellent job responding.
We then discussed the web address ".es" and ".mx" designations. We looked at a website with ".es" and one with ".mx" designations. We read a paragraph from the Mexican designated site. Matthew was very interested in this topic.
We then read several paragraphs from the ".es" designated site. Matthew chose two books in Spanish from which he would like to sample.
I then ran Matthew through a hyper condensed review of the Subjunctive Material that we have covered up to this point in the year.
We were practicing the interrogatives, differentiating them and placing them in complete sentences in Spanish. Then we played an interactive game to form sentences.
