In this activity, GT focused of the trig functions with the most applications. This was the sin function with all the transformations of Amplitude, Period, Phase shift and Vertical shift.
GT and I read the rest of Act II. We discussed the Act. We also completed a quote activity based on Act II. GT does an outstanding job interpreting Shakespeare's lines. We need to work on the significance of the quotes to the plot of the play.
Civil Rights- Chapter 5- Political Parties-Chapter 7

Lesson Comments
GT was terrific today in his willingness to participate in the Halloween party.
In this activity, GT focused on graphing the sin function. We graphed the sin function using all the transformations that we learned and used for quadratics and radical functions. The transformations for sin are, Amplitude, Period, Phase shift and Vertical shift.
In this activity, GT graphed all six trig functions. This is a very time consuming session because we use the unit circle with all 16 ordered pairs to plot the graphs. Most of the time is spent focusing on the sin graph because it is at the center of most applications.
First we discussed Lamarckian evolution as a way of explaining evolution prior to Darwin's Theory. We discussed Alfred Russel Wallaces' independent development of the theory of natural selection and how it prompted Darwin to publish. We started looking through my "evidence for evolution" slideshow, starting with artificial selection. We ended by examining homologous structures, specifically the pentadactyl limb of tetrapods, and looked at diagrams of coelacanth fins vs ray-finned fish.
GT and I worked on a quote activity for Act I. The activity has four major quotes form the Act. GT needed to find the quote, identify the speaker and explain the quote's meaning and significance to the play. GT and I worked on the activity together. He did quite well interpreting the lines. We then finished the Lesson 4 activities in his vocabulary book.
Class began with a review and discussion of current news stories. Next, GT successfully completed an exam on Chapter 5 (A). We then briefly discussed the next study topic, Political Parties and Interest Groups. GT submitted his term paper.
