Matthew was asked to find the amount of time that it can take the human brain to refocus after a distraction.
We then discussed strategies for limiting distractions and for handling distractions as they arrise.
Matthew will keep a notepad by his school desk so that he may write down tasks that he needs to complete later after finishing the task that he is working on at the moment.
He also worked on his Spanish quizzes.

Claudia covered the first half of this class for me as I was needed elsewhere.
Matthew and I traveled separately to the PBSC campus.
He is taking his PERT reading test today.
We will focus on the test first. Remaining time will be devoted to getting a Student ID printed for him, touring campus, and any other operational task that needs to occur for him to be successful in his dual enrollment.
We did problems from his notes. He seemed confident and capable, but should be sure to take his time on the test day.
Matthew then worked on his Spanish review quizzes. He should have completed at least 21 of them at this point to be on schedule for a timely completion. He just finished #16.
Cabo performed well during his Spanish final exam early today. He has internalized the concepts effectively.
There were some questions and tasks that he did not respond to or execute perfectly. So, we took the time to review that content briefly so as to best prepare him for Spanish 2. The verb gustar was one of the areas we reviewed.
Marcel has elected to dive deeper into a project designing a reconfigurable chair.
We discussed theoretical versions of his chair. We then went into the cafeteria with a tape measure and other tools and created a rapid prototype of his design. As we prototyped, it became evident to Marcel, what dimensions he would want for the next version of his project.
He also was able to ideate more designs for his product as he manipulated real materials (like benches) into crude prototypes, and identify which of those new ideas would best serve his original design intent.
Marcel was presented with a review of the entire class up to this point.
We also discussed how products with new technologies historically have a slow adoption rate. We discussed adoption factors. Marcel was asked to tackle specific real-world problems.
