Using a fun book, Tristan was Intetested in a new silly new book with “would you rather questions.” Strong /S/ words with lots of laughter. It was a great session with some fun new descriptive vocabulary. He turned it into a social activity with his peers at lunch.
This morning, Tristan continued to work with place value by recognizing the value of given digits and rounding with numbers to the millions place. Then, he used mental math to add and subtract decimal amounts before finishing with multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit numbers to find the area of rectangles.
Tristan was in the mood for a new activity. With movement and foam language dice, we tossed the dice which sent us on a scavenger hunt. Great language with describing words while practicing our speech.
Tristan seen in his room for an hour treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his sensory processing, self regulation, fine motor development and graphomotor abilities. Focus of today's session was completion of lower case alphabet in cursive. Tristan was instructed on letters "x and z" today and reviewed the letters "n, m. and v" which are all apart of the last group of letters in Script Island lower case program. Tristan was also shown how to write his first name in cursive. He needs continued practice with writing in cursive to make it a functional skill. Continued with keyboarding practice using webs tire Typing.com. He continues to practice isolating fingers to type and not look at the keys. He would benefit from continued practice with keyboard and cursive handwriting over the summer months. Hard work and good session today.
Today, Tristan and I worked on comparing fractions using fraction strips and then determined if those fractions were equivalent. Then, he used mental math to complete 2- and 3-digit subtraction problems. Finally, we worked on a place-value review to the millions place and wrote numbers in standard form from numbers given in word form.
Tristan seen in his room for an hour treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his sensory processing, self regulation, fine motor development and graphomotor abilities. Focused on teaching him the last group of lower case letters in Script Island consisting of the group "The Monkeys Go Mountain Climbing". This group includes the letters "n, m, v, x, and z". He had some difficulty with writing the letters "n and m" in script; however, was able to form the letter "v" adequately. He has not tried the letters "x and z" yet although he was provided with a visual demonstration on how they are formed. Continue to work on the Zones of Regulation concepts and strategies to improve self regulation. OT pointed out to him what zone he was in and offered strategies to move to the green zone. His mood and behavior improved as the session went on.

Impulsive and angry today. Task avoidance during session.
Tristan was enjoying a math video game on the computer. We compromised with moving to a speech game on the iPad that incorporated /s/ practice while playing a card game like UNO. He was happy with the balance of game and practice.
