Liam and I began our session with a calendar activity - identifying the month, day of the week, date, time, weather, and his feelings. Liam then completed a warm-up activity - focusing on math skills. Liam completed Topic 6 Assessment: Connect Area to Multiplication and Addition. Lastly, Liam completed ten minutes on Math Prodigy - focusing on division.

Liam read, discussed, and answered comprehension questions about carnivorous plants. We watched a video showing the Venus Flytrap, the Pitcher plant, and the Sundew plant. We discussed how these plants have adapted to eating insects to get the nutrients they need.

Liam reviewed his spelling words and then took his spelling test. He made a 100%. He read, discussed and answered comprehension questions about the giant Redwood tree.

Liam reviewed and practiced spelling all his new spelling words. After discussing the meaning of each word, he wrote a sentence using each word demonstrating his understanding of how each word should be used in a sentence. He read and discussed his new vocabulary words. Using his glossary skills, he looked up his new vocabulary words and wrote the word and its definition into his notebook. He learned about rhyming poems, poems that did not rhyme, and narrative poems. He worked on an activity using the prefix un.

Liam imaged, read, spelled and manipulated sounds in words ending with -ious, -ial, -ity, and -ify. He also broke four syllable words into syllables and read them with 90%accuracy. He read the next three chapters of ‘Horrible Harry and the Scarlet Crayon’

Liam imaged, read, spelled and manipulated sounds in three syllable words ending in -ate and -age. He broke 20 multisyllable words into syllables and read them with 85% accuracy. He imagined and completed a story about a horse named Bucephalis.

Liam worked on a drawing exercise with me for the first class we had together. We worked on drawing gradients with graphite. For his second class, we worked on Procreate on character drawing.

Today he learned the four seasons, days of the weeks, and months in Spanish. He completed pages 2-5 from Rockalingua.
