Shehan was late today, so JM joined us for the first half hour. He was drawing faces on balloons and Brad was interacting and making suggestions for him. Brad was also sharing what he was doing with JM and they had a nice conversation and laughed together.

Lesson Comments
Brad was cooperative today. We covered answering/asking questions. He has a tendency to answer 'yes' or 'yeah' to most questions he is asked. Today we talked about times when it's okay to answer 'no'. We went over descriptors to use when describing people. We asked each other about different people, offering an opportunity to answer and describe hair color, hair length, eye color, gender, height, etc. He struggled to ask questions, but seems to be improving his willingness to answer out loud. Mary entered and remained in the room for the second half of the session. Brad was slightly distracted by her, but seemed to grow more accustomed to her presence as time progressed. Observations shouldn't be a problem once he comes to expect it. Eye contact was good today. He required very little redirection and responded quickly to cues to reduce physical stim behavior. Brad enjoyed our game of 'go fish' with descriptions. I invited Mary to bring some materials from home and the three of us can do some activities - she commented that she has some materials that she just doesn't really know how to use effectively.
