Today Arianna made candy cane bark. She started by melting vanilla and dark chocolate morsels. Next, she scooped the melted chocolate into piping bags and piped the white chocolate into the molds. Arianna then did the same with the dark chocolate. The finishing touch was the crushed candy cane sprinkled on top. Arianna placed the molds into the freezer until they were set. She then shared her delicious candy cane bark with everyone at school.

Today Arianna and I took a trip to the library. While we were there we looked for baking and candy cookbooks. We put a few books on hold and checked some out. Next, we looked through the cookbooks and picked out recipes for next week.
Marcos and I mixed canned pumpkin, softened cream cheese, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice in the mixer. We took a pie crust and cut out 5" diameter circles. We put 3 Tbsp of the pumpkin filling on half of the pie crust, then folded it over and sealed the edges. Marcos was familiar with using a fork to crimp them. We brushed the top with a mixture of whipping cream, vanilla, and cinnamon. Then we baked them for 20 minutes at 375. Everyone commented on how good the school smelled while they were cooking. Marcos helped me wash the dishes.

Arianna then added in the Rice Krispies and milk chocolate chips. We set the mixture aside and finely chopped the Reese's Peanut Cups. She mixed in the peanut butter cups and then formed the cookies into balls. We let them set in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
