Chris was observably tired this morning, however, he was eager to discuss an "important" topic today. Recent sessions have focused strongly on successfully navigating peer relationships, managing conflict, and problem solving. He was very much wanting share that a current situation that was at the forefront of recent discussions has been resolved. Metacognition and metalinguistic skills continue to improve, as review of presupposition and perspective taking was highlighted, and he explained that he "did a great job at thinking about what "so and so " was thinking, and what they knew." He was proud that he was "thinking about thinking, like we talk about." Speaker - listener reciprocity was supported today with familiar cues, as periods of overlap were noted. Chris was eager to expand upon the topics of discussion during Monday's session. He utilized increased questioning with genuine interest as a topic initiation strategy this session across 4 topics. Speaker -speaker overlap was noted to increase as conversational reciprocity was rapid. Awareness of overlap was variable, as cues to support acknowledgement, and subsequent repair of overlap were provided across each occurrence. Chris was very much wanting to revisit the topics of perspective taking and presupposition today. Expansion into aspects of the dynamics of "text messaging in contrast to verbal face to face communication was also highlighted once again.
Hypothetical scenarios continue to afford excellent opportunities to explore and practice use of strategies to navigate successful communication exchanges. Strong session once again. Session shortened by a few minutes due to recess today.

Chris was excited to meet today, as he unexpectedly initiated the session from home this morning a few minutes ahead of schedule. He shared that he was "home from school today," and "wanted to make sure that we still had our class." He rapidly began a sort of "show and tell" as he shared the new computer apps and programs that he recently acquired. This afforded an excellent opportunity to review narrative generation, and the key components needed for a strong, cohesive, linguistically sound narrative. He quickly shared "Oh yeah Ms. Lynne, I remember all that stuff," and proceeded to generate a strong narrative with minimal cueing. Attention was strong today, and conversational reciprocity was characterized by lengthy cycles of exchange with periods of overlap notably decreased. Strong session today. He was commended for demonstrating such responsibility for ensuring that he was present today.
