Chris was quick to initiate conversation this morning following a fast "good morning." He was very much wanting to expand upon the topics and the discussion from Monday's session. Supports to allow for increased cycles of reciprocity, following both question and comment stimuli were provided as the session commenced. Chris was reflective, and periodically requested repetition of comments when speaker-speaker overlap was evident. He also requested additional review of "social thinking" strategies as navigating peer relationships at school continues to be the forefront of his mind. He shared that he was anxiously awaiting the outcome of today's conference.
The session closed with Chris expressing his gratitude for all of the time that we spend "talking about really important stuff," and for all of the "help" that has been given. Strong session today.
Luke had a good session today. He listened to stories outloud and predicted what would happen next in the story. In addition, he answered questions about what he knows about the story. He did a great job with this and sat at the table for the duration of the activity. Luke had some difficulties with understanding 'not.' For example, when asked what word does NOT describe a character he had difficulties being able to answer correctly.

Chris was eager to meet this morning, as he once again had a great deal of "things to talk about." He was clearly internally distracted, and rapidly initiated conversation, wanting to share his thoughts across a variety of topics. Scaffolding supports allowed for a linear progression across topics and use of topic transition phrases. Focus of conversation allowed for review of strategies from the "Social Thinking" literature, as well as the concepts of perspective taking, and presupposition. Aspects of peer dynamics relating to both "on-line" interactions as well as "in person" interactions were at the basis for conversation during today's session. Self awareness, and review of the "zones of regulation" were once again highlighted. Reciprocity was supported with familiar cues as well. Morning break coincided with this morning's session, and Chris chose to remain in session, even after interruption from peers to join them outside. Chris was wanting to engage beyond our time allotted today as he was notably resonating with the strategies and support that was shared. Strong session.
Richard had a great session today. He worked hard! Richard provided definitions for 7/8 words with no cues. Language was the only word that he had a difficult time formulating a definition. Richard was given an alphabet and asked to circle which word in a field of 5 words was at the beginning of the alphabet, he did great! Richard was read a 7 paragraph story outloud and then answered questions about the story with 80% acccuracy. Lastly, Richard was given an activity to work on singular and plural nouns. He had difficulties with 'children' and 'men' but overall did an excellent job!
