Luke was seen in his room for a 45 minute occupational therapy treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his bilateral integration/hand usage, fine motor development, graphomotor skills, postural control and sensory processing/organization for improved general performance in various environments. Began treatment with a writing activity that involved Luke creating his own Pokeman character. He had to pick different parts to make a whole Pokeman and was very engaged in this activity because of his interest in this subject. He created a character and used this character as a page in his book he is working on in OT. He also wanted to survey his peers as to which power of a Pokeman is their favorite. We continue to work on and discuss our Zones of Regulation, expected versus unexpected behaviors and problem size matching reaction size. Luke understands all these concepts. Steady progress is being made.
Luke was seen in his room for a 45 minute occupational therapy treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his bilateral integration/hand usage, fine motor development, graphomotor skills, postural control and sensory processing/organization for improved general performance in various environments. Luke was seen at start of session outside for heavy work play before table top tasks. He participated well in both pickle ball and ping pong. We continued in Luke's room with writing activities to work on refined fine motor and visual motor skills. Luke's writing is showing improvement but he continues to need help with some formations, line placement and sizing. He continues to make steady gains in all areas addressed.
Richard was seen in his room for a 45-minute treatment session. His session focuses on improving his postural control, integration of retained reflexes, visual motor skills and integration, fine motor skills, dexterity, manipulation, ocular motor development and graphomotor development/keyboarding as an alternative means to written communication. Last session before Spring Break week and Richard asked to do work outside. We began therapy on mat doing mat exercises geared to integrate the ATNR reflex using MRNI techniques. Richard participated well and enjoyed the outdoor time. We continued with chalk play to review all learned letters in cursive. Lastly, we joined peer and another teacher to play a game of Bocci ball. Richard enjoyed the time with peer and interacted well. He also demonstrated great sportsmandship.

His session focuses on improving his postural control, integration of retained reflexes, visual motor skills and integration, fine motor skills, dexterity, manipulation, ocular motor development and graphomotor development/keyboarding as an alternative means to written communication. Began session with ocular motor work via Ann Arbor tracking program and hanging ball game. Richard was able to track words inside a jumbled word paragraph and is showing steady progress with increased speed and improved accuracy. We continued playing a game in which a ball was hung in his room that he was required to poke it with his index finger back and forth to his OT. While poking back and forth he had to say the alphabet with each touch of the ball. The timing and sequence of the letters was slightly difficult for him but with more practice this should be easier to achieve. This brings the visual system and cognitive systems together in synergy as they both work together to be successful with this activity. Lastly, worked on cursive handwriting by reviewing and practicing previous learned letters. Good session.
Began with Ann Arbor Tracking Program to work on
and improve visual saccades and tracking. For his first trial, Richard was asked to track seven words from a sentence in a jumbled word paragraph. It took him 32 seconds to track seven words with one verbal cue because he skipped one word and had to go back to find it. For the second trial it took Richard 34 seconds to track 10 words in a jumbled word paragraph independently. Next we worked on following directions and listening skills. OT gave direction at a medium speed but Richard was 0/3 in following a 2-step direction correctly. Reviewed all previously learned cursive and introduced him to the letter "f" in cursive.
Assignment
Continue to work on following multiple step directions
Luke was seen in his room for a 45-minute occupational therapy treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his bilateral integration/hand usage, fine motor development, graphomotor skills, postural control and sensory processing/organization for improved general performance in various environments. Luke was seen in his room for therapy session. Previous teacher reported that he was having a "hard" day. In OT, Luke continued with drawing, coloring and writing in his book "It's Raining Pikachu". He asked the OT to draw the Pikachues for the cover and he colored them. Today Luke was getting up and down while working and had a hard time staying on task for completion. He was talking a lot about football and was excited for the Art Show. He asked to play ping pong but OT said first he had to write in order to play. In the end he wrote minimally and did not earn Ping Pong time.
Luke was seen in his room for a 45-minute occupational therapy treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his bilateral integration/hand usage, fine motor development, graphomotor skills, postural control and sensory processing/organization for improved general performance in various environments. Began today session with kinetic sand play for sensory input via the tactile system. Seemed calming and organizing for Luke. Continued to work on "whole body listening". Luke was able to follow a two-step direction but needed the second direction repeated 4/5 times. Next, we discussed self regulation and used an Emotions Worksheet which had facial expressions of different emotions. We talked about different students and different times when they were feeling certain ways and Luke was able to chose the appropriate emotion. He also talked about how he felt during different times/situations. Lastly, we worked on handwriting by creating a book per Luke's request. He wrote the title today and illustrated the first page. The book is called "It's Raining Pokeman". Productive session.
Richard presented with excellent participation throughout the session. He started with a fine motor strengthening and coordination activity using a chip clip to pick up 25 small items hidden throughout the room, demonstrating good visual scanning and fixation to locate all 25 items. Richard then worked on core and upper extremity strengthening while completing supine flexion ball kicks and prone extension ball throws, 20 each. Noted an improvement in the ATNR reflex integration while engaged in gross motor activities.
Luke was seen in his room for a 45 minute occupational therapy treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his bilateral integration/hand usage, fine motor development, graphomotor skills, postural control and sensory processing/organization for improved general performance in various environments. Began session with peer and other teacher playing ping pong outside with a focus on sportsmanship and regulation. It was hard for Luke not to feel sad when losing a point and overly celebratory when winning a point or game. In room worked on writing with Pokemon activity. Luke is writing a book about Pokemon called "Its Raining Pikachu". He wrote well and ended the session in a good regulated state.
Richard was very talkative today which at times made it take longer to get his work completed. Worked on reviewing and writing in cursive today. Richard required reinstruction on the letter "y" in cursive but was able to recall the letters "i, u, w, j, r, t and p" from the "Monkeys Go Surfing" group in Script Island. Reviewed letters "c,o,a" from the "Mikey's Hut" group. Richard made a picture of the island to use which serves as a visual guide to make the letters for the "Mikey Hut" group of letters. He can trace the path with his fingers which corresponds to the formation of the letters. This is a multi-sensory approach to learning writing. Good session.
